Eric Klein.  Vice Principal, Business & Development Director

Eric holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Music from the Manhattan School of Music in New York.  For over 30 years Eric’s career as a concert violinist, composer, conductor, teacher and lecturer has been highlighted by creative and innovative approaches to the performing, composing and teaching of music.  His creative approach to composition is informed by his own experience writing music for the musical theatre, work in the commercial sector, alongside the traditional classical world of music.  With others he lead a revival of the big band music of Paul Wightman and has performed with some popular stars including Henry Mancini, Dionne Warwick and Mel Torme.  In addition Eric’s eclectic professional career includes several years as a corporate senior manager and business training at the Harvard Business School.  He has also trained at a Priest Seminary in Germany, adding a pastoral element to his work.  Due to this rich and varied background, Eric’s approach to administration and management is a very creative and imaginative one, with a focus on dynamic personal interactions.  In recent years Eric has worked as a head of music in England, created a music programme for an FE College, founded an early year’s music programme, and given professional development workshops around the country for music teachers, non-teaching education professionals, community and social service professionals and special needs practitioners.
